THE STORY BEHIND AMAZING GRACE

The words to Amazing Grace were written by English clergyman John Newton in the 18th century and became one of Christianity's most recognizable hymns.

Its message of redemption has endured across generations and around the world.

This race celebrates that same message:

There is hope after failure.

There is forgiveness for the past.

There is grace for today.

There is hope for tomorrow.

And sometimes moving forward begins with one faithful step.

Complete your chosen distance and earn the collectible Amazing Grace finisher medal, created as a beautiful reminder of both your accomplishment and the message behind the race. 

Your registration also includes a digital race bib that you can use for your challenge.

HOW DOES THE AMAZING GRACE VIRTUAL RACE WORK?

1. CHOOSE YOUR DISTANCE

Choose the challenge that's right for you:

1 Mile | 5K | 10K | 13.1 Miles | 26.2 Miles

Whether you're walking your first mile or challenging yourself to complete 26.2, your accomplishment matters.

2. COMPLETE YOUR MILES

Run, walk, jog or hike your chosen distance anytime between September 1 and December 31, 2026. 

Complete your race:

• Around your neighborhood
• At a local park
• On your favorite trail
• At the gym
• On a treadmill
• On a running track
• During another organized race

3. COMPLETE IT YOUR WAY

You don't have to be the fastest.

You don't have to compete against anyone.

You don't even have to complete all your miles at once.

Spread them across several days.

Spend the time praying, reflecting or simply enjoying being outside.

4. SUBMIT YOUR RESULTS

Track your distance and finishing time and submit your results through Virtual Run Events.
