25 YEARS LATER — WE STILL REMEMBER
On September 11, 2001, America was forever changed.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93.
Among the tragedy were extraordinary acts of courage and selflessness.
Firefighters climbed stairwells while others were trying to escape.
Police officers, paramedics, emergency personnel, military members, and ordinary citizens stepped forward to help.
Countless others would serve in the rescue, recovery, and rebuilding efforts that followed.
Now, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, we invite you to set aside time to remember.
Not simply by looking back—but by moving forward with purpose.
One mile at a time.
WHO WILL YOU CARRY WITH YOU?
A memorial race can mean something different to every participant.
You may complete your miles in memory of someone who lost their life on September 11.
You may run in honor of a firefighter, police officer, paramedic, dispatcher, military member, or other first responder.
You may dedicate your race to the survivors.
You may remember those who participated in rescue and recovery efforts.
Or you may simply use your miles as a quiet opportunity to reflect on a day that changed our nation.
Write a name on your bib.
Carry a photograph.
Wear something meaningful.
Say a prayer.
Share a story with your children.
Or simply take a quiet moment before beginning your race.
There is no single way to remember.
A MEMORIAL MEDAL WITH MEANING
Your Race to Remember finisher medal was created to serve as more than a reward for completing a distance.
It is a keepsake of remembrance.
The silver-toned memorial medal features the Twin Towers incorporated into the number 11, the date 9•11•01, the words RACE TO REMEMBER, and the message:
“HONOR THE HEROES • REMEMBER THE FALLEN • NEVER FORGET.”
Your registration includes your commemorative medal and race bib.
When you see the medal years from now, we hope you remember not only the miles you completed, but why you completed them.

YOUR MILES SUPPORT TUNNEL TO TOWERS FOUNDATION
The charitable partner for the Race to Remember has a direct connection to September 11.
15% of every registration is donated to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Tunnel to Towers was established in honor of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller, who lost his life on September 11 after making his way toward the World Trade Center to help others.
Today, the organization continues its mission by supporting America's first responders, military heroes, and their families.
Your registration therefore represents more than participation in a memorial race.
Your miles help carry the spirit of service forward.
Virtual Run Events independently selects charitable organizations to benefit from our races and is not affiliated with Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
MORE THAN $1 MILLION RAISED FOR CHARITY
The Virtual Run Events community has helped raise more than $1 million for charities and nonprofit organizations through virtual races and fitness challenges.
Every registration adds to that impact.
For the Race to Remember, those miles take on special significance.
We remember the past while helping organizations serving heroes and families today.
